Tom Balzer is an association executive and organizational leader with more than 25 years of experience serving mission-driven, member-based associations. He currently serves as President & CEO of the Ohio Trucking Association in Columbus, Ohio.
Tom’s leadership journey began early and grew into a career defined by service, stewardship, and a commitment to building stronger organizations. His experience spans executive leadership, member engagement, governance, and strategic growth. Whether he is leading an organization, mentoring emerging leaders, or helping shape long-term strategy, Tom is driven by a simple belief: strong organizations are built by people who are willing to give back.
Before his current role, Tom served in leadership positions including Director of Administration at Midwest Motor Express and Executive Vice President of the North Dakota Motor Carriers Association. Throughout every chapter of his career, he has remained focused on one central idea: leadership is not about recognition, but about responsibility. He is known for helping organizations thrive by investing in people, strengthening culture, and leading with consistency and purpose.
