VP of Regulatory Affairs, Safety & Compliance, Solera
Timothy LaFon (Tim) is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Solera Holdings LLC, where he leads regulatory affairs, government relations, and industry engagement across the company's Fleet Solutions businesses. With more than 30 years of experience in the commercial transportation industry, he is recognized for his leadership in vehicle safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, and emerging transportation technologies.
Throughout his career, Tim has worked closely with manufacturers, technology providers, service centers, and commercial motor carriers to address complex regulatory and safety challenges. He has contributed to more than 200 commercial vehicle accident investigations and has served as both a corporate representative and expert witness in matters involving vehicle safety and compliance.
Tim has extensive experience working with regulatory agencies and government authorities throughout North America, including FMCSA, NHTSA, NTSB, Transport Canada, and numerous state and provincial governments.
His expertise includes connected vehicle technologies, automated driving systems, and government contracting. An active industry leader, he serves in a leadership role with ACT 1 and is committed to advancing transportation safety through collaboration, innovation, and effective use of Safety Management Systems.
