Gain insight into how renewable natural gas (RNG) can optimize your fleet to reduce harmful emissions without disrupting business operations. This session will detail the rise of RNG and the introduction of new product offerings poised to sustainable solutions in the heavy-duty commercial transportation market.  Speakers include industry experts of engine & fuel system manufacturers, fuel providers, and leading fleets operating RNG trucks today. Learn how your fleet can cost-effectively achieve an immediate net-zero outcome by fueling with RNG.  Get educated on the benefits of RNG and come away with a better understanding of why RNG in transportation provides steep carbon emission reductions, low total cost of ownership and a powerful sustainability story today

Background

Increased use of RNG as a transportation fuel provides immediate and significant criteria and toxic air pollutant reductions. Commercially available, heavy-duty engines powered by RNG already outperform future emissions regulations. The new X15N Cummins engine is set to meet stringent EPA and CARB regulations for model year 2024 and 2027 without using compliance credits. Cummins natural gas engines are 90 percent cleaner than the EPA’s current NOx emissions requirement and 90 percent cleaner than the cleanest diesel engine in the market.

The new Cummins 15-liter natural gas-powered engine delivers diesel-like performance with greater horsepower compared to ISX12N resulting in 10% improved efficiency. This engine is a Game Changer for the hard to decarbonize Class 8 heavy-duty long-haul sector. When fueled with RNG (biomethane captured from landfills and dairy farms), the 15-liter natural gas engine achieves even greater CO2 and greenhouse gas benefits of up to 300% lower than diesel. Fueling with RNG is carbon-neutral, even carbon-negative, depending on the RNG source. Currently and for decades to come, there is no better commercially available and deployable alternative fuel option for the heavy-duty sector.
