While we have a clear understanding of the important role that trucking plays in the U.S., there remain plenty of lessons to be learned from the industry globally. This dynamic session will feature ATA’s own Chris Spear and his counterpart from the International Road Transport Union based in Geneva, Switzerland, Umberto de Pretto. Mr. de Pretto is Secretary General of the IRU and has in-depth knowledge of the trucking industry in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He travels the globe collaborating with trucking associations on issues such as driver shortages, environment regulations, and infrastructure and will provide his insights on these. Also expect to hear what other countries are doing with electric trucks and how they are recruiting new talent to the industry, among many other issues.
